In order to participate in the 3rd grade A project: “The Space”, we decided that the aliens that will appear in their theatre play, as a final product of the project, would speak in English.
Per tal d’incloure l’àrea d’anglès en el projecte de 3r A: "L’espai", vàrem decidir que els alienígenes que apareixeran en l’obra de teatre, com a producte final del projecte, parlarien en anglès.
On our first session, we created the alien with the help of their tutor. Working in cooperative teams and using different cooperative structures, students decided the alien’s physical appearance, the name of the planet where he lives and his name.
En la primera sessió, vàrem crear l’alienígena amb l’ajuda de la seva tutora. Treballant en grups cooperatius i utilitzant diferents estructures cooperatives, els alumnes varen decidir com seria físicament l’alienígena, el nom del planeta on viuria i el seu nom.
On our next session, we worked on the physical description of the alien following a model of a description with different grammar structures and vocabulary related to parts of the body. Students wrote the description of the alien on their notebooks using the cooperative structure “pencil in the middle”. Finally, the speaker of each cooperative team presented the description of his / her group to the rest of the class.
En la següent sessió, vàrem treballar la descripció física de l’alienígena. Seguint un model d’una descripció amb diferents estructures gramaticals i vocabulari relacionat amb les parts del cos, els alumnes varen escriure la descripció de l’alienígena en les seves llibretes mitjançant l’estructura cooperativa “llapis al mig”. Per acabar, el portaveu de cada equip va presentar la descripció del seu grup a la resta d'alumnes de la classe.
On our third session, we decided different aspects of the alien’s life with the help of the tutor.
Each cooperative team had to answer to one of the following questions:
- How does he move and travel around the planet?
- What does he eat?
- Does he have any pets?
- What does his house and his planet look like?
- What kind of clothes does he wear?
The English teacher helped each team to write the answer to their question in English.
En la nostra tercera sessió, vàrem decidir diferents aspectes de la vida de l’alienígena amb l’ajuda de la seva tutora. Cada grup cooperatiu havia de contestar una de les següents preguntes:
- Com es desplaça ell mateix i al voltant del planeta?
- Què menja?
- Té mascotes?
- Com és la seva casa i el seu planeta?
- Com vesteix?
La mestra d’anglès va ajudar a cada equip a escriure la resposta a la seva pregunta en anglès.
In order to work the same contents in English with 3rd grade B, we decided that the students of this last group would write letters to 3rd grade A to get information about the alien. Every week they leave the letters in an alien mailbox.
Both groups have in their notebooks the questions with the information about the alien’s life so as to consolidate the vocabulary related to transport, food, pets, house and clothes.
3rd graders are enjoying a lot these appealing activities!
Per tal de treballar els mateixos continguts en anglès amb el grup de tercer B, vàrem decidir que els alumnes d'aquest darrer grup escriurien cartes als alumnes de 3rA per a poder esbrinar informació sobre el seu alienígena. Tant 3r A com 3r B deixen les cartes en una bústia amb forma d’alienígena.
Els dos grups de tercer escriuen en les seves llibretes les diferents preguntes amb la informació de l’alienígena per tal de consolidar el vocabulari relacionat amb transport, menjar, mascotes, parts de la casa i roba.
Els alumnes de tercer estan gaudint molt aquestes activitats!
